We woke up a bit late that day, my ex-colleague NG KL who are currently pursuing his further studies In Melbourne agreed to take us out for a tour around the City. I’ve been planning to contact him whenever we are in Melb since we got to know he resigned from my current employer. So while waiting for him, we had our home made breakfast. Our breakfast mission that morning was to finish whatever left in the fridge..so tada…LOL!
Our breakfast in Somerset
KL arrived early around 9am ke 10am that morning, introduced him to my family. Later on was sorting out all the Brahim’s rencah left over ( 1 big bag) to pass to him, so that we don’t have to bring it back to Msia (memberatkan bag!). At least he can cook and enjoy Msian cooking kan! LOL! Well he refused to accept Nona nasi impit tuh…so next time please finish it siap2 at the beginning of the trip. (note to myself). Sampai Melb je memang senang makan, so tak laku sgt stock ahaha…
Us at Somerset lobby
First we walk …yes we all had to walk to Melb city ( according to KL it was not that far…hahaha…funny. It was a very far for my mom ok!) but we managed reached the famous Federal Square by foot! Yehoo!
Discussing where to go
Walking to Flinders Street Station
At the Federation Square, everyone sat down resting while me and KL went to check out the nearby Tourist Centre. We were undecided whether to go on a river cruise crossing to Williams Town or just to take a city tour via the City Circle Tram. According to the TC staff, river cruise will take a bout 2 hours return. Uhh no..we don’t have much time, so we decided to take the City Tram instead.
The classic city tram
After a few stations of tours, we decided to step down from the Tram and walk back to our apartment. My mom was tired already. So we took our van out and drive to South Wharf DFO, hehehe…
We were planning to have our lunch here. Guess what, we just couldn’t find any HALAL restaurant here, fish and chips dia ada dim sim so end up buying some potato chips at this no pork shop. Was a bit disappointed here, thought it would be among the best DFOs we went but instead this outlet has less choices. Perhaps due ti its locality – nearest to the city? Moorabin had the most choices (because ulu hehe) and Essendon pun. Bought some clothing for my nieces and nephews here. But yes our dearest Wawa found her first SMIGGLE shop. Honestly, the items sold in it there is so amazing and colourful. She requested a school bag that cost 60 AUD! Aiyak,,oklah papa dia bagi chance. Bukan selalu ke Aussie kan?! hehe… (Just got to know Singapore ada the nearest kalau nak beli lagi..)
We were there only for 2 hours, then we drove to Harbour Town , Docklands where the famous San Churros is located.
Mamamia! Tempat lain mungkin ada, tapi this is where we found ours.
Actually we all tapau, coz we were too hungry. Gambar churros celup tu ehsan net. Alhamdulillah we have a few Halal food options to eat …so we opted for Nandos. You have to request for HALAL servings ya.
Coincidentally my closest cousin and her family were there too! Havoc la kejap happy to finally being able to gather kat Melbourne! We planned our itinerary almost similar, but it was difficult to arrange a meet up as our days collided with each others. So here are the Shamsudin’s family at Harbour Town Melbourne – June 2014 🙂
Horbour Town – It was a very interesting place to be! Managed to grab 2 pairs of Levis jeans at 60 dollars!
Bought myself chevron duvet set! Yeay from Sheridan! The sales girls did asked me how come Malaysian love buying bedsheets!!? heheh…because murah la!
Phew…the day did not ended here. We drove back and park our van.
We went separate ways, my mom and dad walked around the shopping street, while Mr Hubby went to have a drink with his ex- colleague Gloria at Mex Brenner while, Me, Aqib Haziq and KL went to this souvenirs shop.
But not before we force KL to teach us on how to take the Melb city tram. I had actually bought the tram card since our 2nd day in town, bought it at any7- eleven outlets. Minimum top up is AUD7 each.
According to KL’s surveys this is the cheapest shop in Melbourne heheh…
We went crazy here,so cheap! After borong,we bid KL goodbye. Walk straight to Target to join my parents there.
Not long after we reached TARGET, something bad happened! (sampai sekarang kalau teringat mesti rasa kesal sesangat) 😦 Lumrah hidup mesti ada inccident kan..
We just stepped out from the lif when Aqib came out rushed running when he suddenly fell down in a loud thus and cried! Everyone was panic!
When we lifted him up and saw that he had bumped his front head. dahlah besi ! Uwa..Allahuakhbar! My dad was saying at his top of his lungs when he touched Aqib’s head. There was big lump as big as a ping pong ball!!!! plus there is a long small bleeding cut!!. MasyaAllah, hanya Allah je tahu perasaan macam mana!! Memang menggelatar habis, my brother rushed to & Eleven to get some ice.
Called mr hubby to come and join us. We all yang lain try to calm down, asking where is the nearest clinic. Being in a foreign country during emergency moments it not my choice at all! Freaking crazylah when all the clinic were already closed by 6pm.
In the midst of finding a solution whether we should bring Aqib to a hospital or find the nearest medical treatment, my mom asked this one lady who sat next to my mom.
She asked us what happened? Mom told her about the accident, and she told us “oh I am a doctor, let me have a look at the wound” She scanned Aqib’s forehead and look at the wound. She asked us to stop tuam with the ice. She said it is actually Aqib’s skull is good there is a only a cut in the bump.” You shouldn’t worry. Just treat the wound with antiseptic”.
The doctor advised us to go to QV where they have a pharmacy.
We said our Thank you and walk straight to QV. WOW! We have no idea where this QV is but we just walked along the China Town and turn left and finally we found it! Guess what!! The pharmacy just closed 30 minutes earlier.
I was a bit relieved when Mr hubby finally join us there. Gloria yang tgh sarat mengandung pun ikut sama rupanya. She bought us some plaster and antiseptic and Mr Hubby sapu on the wound. Gloria gave us her personal Aussie doctor number, for the doctor to come direct to our apartment should there is unusual symptoms on Aqib.
We slowly walk back to our apartment…gosh what a drama indeed. Praying that Aqib will be ok. We survived the night. Btw QV tu rupanya dekat giler gan our apartment!
What a nightmare! Hilang abis mood shopping mlm tu!!
This is Gloria, who assisted us to calm down. TQ so much dear!
