Bye bye 2013…welcome 2014!

Been enjoying those IG’s video of some of my friends shared, the video of their 2013 highlights.

I still cannot figure it out how to do that haha..so I guess I’m just going to settled down with blogging my 2013 highlights.

Let’s try make it as simple as I can hehe..

January 2013

1st Jan – we started to train our daughter Sarah to sleep in her own room, we called it “the bed shift”

Mid March – Aqib hospitalised due to his chesty cough

End March – We allow our bibik to have a 2 week break.

First experience traveling with Aqib and 2 weeks of full-time housewife hehe

11 May – A2PPL hosted a complete A to Z client party.

31st Dec – for the first time ever its just a new year for me.

From Jan to April 2013 – Did my first MRI Scan for my back pain and the doctor at Columbia Asia diagnosed me with imbalance saraf, Had to go through physiotherapy on weekly basis. Alhamdulillah am doin alright now.

Phew, thank god ada blog ni…took me a while to remember what we did this year. There are a few more entries due. Ntah bila la nak blog. Still have an essay to prepare tonight…dateline menunggu…

Just realized we did travel a lot in the first half of the year! Alhamdulillah. Lessons learn next time organized towards the 2nd half of the year! heheh.

I stop by to look back at my 2013 year reso…wow I almost achieved 80% of it. Not bad huh? hhahaha..I’m gonna add one more reso..Aqib to move in with Wawa soon…!!

KL Bird Park

September, we decided to bring the kids along with the rest of the family to visit KL Bird Park which is just nearby our Royal Lake Club.

We’ve been there a few times, but that was during our childhood.

This time is the next generation. Wawa Eli Luqman Aqib and the twins!

Aqib & Wawa was so excited. Well Wawa la kan hahaha…the park is for bird lover. You can only watch the birds!! (mama papa boring half way hokey) Luckily there was a bird show.

We had 2 solid hours in the park and then proceeded to the club for solat and group lunch.

Should you go? Yes. for the sake of local tourism industry :p nah…i mean it you should at least lah try once in your lifetime! :p

What should you bring?

Lots of water and snacks. Food and drink are expensive. Can you imagine 1 mineral water is RM5!

Stroller for toddler. This is quite a big park…or you’ll ended up with carrying them up and down the hill.

Camera and video. Yes of course.

Wear your sun tan cream and hat!

Small change to buy some feeding food in the park.

Happy Birthday Papa

It was my hubby 36th birthday and I’ve planned this last minute hotel staycation at Rennaisance Kuala Lumpur.

Checked in on 27th noon and check out on 29th of Sept. His actual birthday date was on 29th!

I’m happy that he enjoyed his unlimited supplies of salmon and salads for his bday breakfast lunch and dinner! Hehe mak pon enjoy sekali makan!

The kids enjoyed their time by swimming at the hotel pool.

One day before his bday, we celebrate his birthday with his childhood best friend at the top of the Regalia jalan sultan ismail. It was an awesome experience. Just look at the view!

Well I’m running out of ideas what to do for his next birthday but I hope next year will different??

The Holiday – Jakarta Trip 2013

I’ve decided to finally update on our recent holiday trip to Jakarta during last March school holidays.

The purpose of that trip was to make sure my maid “balik kampung” (return trip to her home land went on smoothly). She highlighted that the immigration officers were making such a hassle during her first trip  back then in May 2011.

We booked her return ticket on 22nd March, Friday so that she could enjoy at least 7 days break in Jakarta. While ours was on 27th and our return tickets was on 30th March Saturday night.

Day 1

The flight details

Normally we would have flown with Air Asia, but after comparing all the cost and convenience factor we decided to go for KLM Airline. The cost was just RM100 difference with AA. I’m glad we opted for them! Was expecting an old plane with poor interior like our previous trip in 2008. Surprising we got the new plane, new interior an excellent cabin crew for both ways. Alhamdulillah! Pelik pulak rasa mat salleh yang serve kita hehehe! The food on our way to Jakarta was just chicken pie, that was ok enough for us.

We decided to give it a try on a new place called Aston Kuningan, Jakarta. The rate is quite the same with Aryadutta Apartment Hotel (check my last trip entry) but they have 1 room with 1 king bed and another room with 2 twin bed. One proper bath area and 1 toilet area, a living room and of course a complete kitchen with fridge. Didn’t notice a  washing machine, was not planning to wash anyway here!!

The hotel pick up service was good, siap serve air in the car cold mineral water and can drinks! We need that upon arrival!

You see the red bag? We travel with only that bag, inside a small black bag, Just that!

In order to travel in comfort AND to minimize budget, we opted for 5pm flight hehe. So we arrived at Jakarta around 6pm Indon time (7pm Msia). I’ve arranged for the hotel van to pick us up, more reliable and time saver lah…I was told earlier by my cousins some Taxi driver might not be familiar with the location.

We arrived at our Hotel after all the “normal” MACET experience around 8.30pm. Checked-in and we decided to have our dinner at the hotel restaurant. A very nice restaurant with live band kugiran and candlelight! Right after dinner, terus naik and tidur!

Day 2

Well we didn’t plan to hire any driver, but my dad tried to call this one Bapak because we heard his rate were good (recommended by my uncle). So walla by 9am we got ourselves a Supir to drive us around.

After a very musykil breakfast, (I don’t know why I was feeling a little bit doubtful…they were serving pork in the same room labelled “non-halal” erkkk…not that I’m not used to it just kinda odd after quite a while…. hehe just to let you know we opted to avoid all meat dish on our 2nd day.

Our first stop was the Mangga 2, pasar pagi the furthers venue. Since it was our first venue, I couldn’t decide whether to buy the bags here or not. Tak tau lagi berapa murah…or mahal kan. So there were a lot of window shopping done. Travelling with 2 kids at this age can be quite challenging. Sarah was sulking…bored…tak nak jalan…and blabala..Aqib was too active…so end up like last trip with my MIL we decided to lepak at the A&W. Eating!! LOL! My Mom & Dad sempat tuh order their glasses to be delivered to our hotel once it is ready.

I’ve managed to grab a few baju for Sarah and Eli here. RP70,000 each…oh yeah we didn’t find any of the usual handbag port…so NIL no bags here. I just set my eyes on this PRADA Jelly bags they were selling it at RP700,000 (tak bargain lagi ni). Menyesal tak beli…because..(TBC)

Then we went to the 3rd floor of the other wing to the beads area to buy some beads. Honestly I’m not good with this la…I bought a few for the sake of buying hahah, oh yeah it was cheap though! Impressive, I wish we got something like this here in KL. My mom bought hers…so mine I’ll figure out something lah nanti nak buat and jahit kat mana. Beautiful beads!

By the time we finish Mangga 2 it was already around 2ish, lunch at GARUDA and straight back to the city for Tamarind City. Yes the MACET is such a waste of time. By the time we arrived here it was almost 6.00pm!! So sangatla limited time, the shops closes at 7pm. This is already in the city. So guess what the price…remember the Jelly Bag? I saw this one nice black one with leopard printed based selling at RP1.3 juta!! No nego tau! Uwaaa menyesal…nyesal…I know we will not have time to go to Mangga 2.

Here the price is a little bit high…but choices are great! Saw a few Jubah and beauiful indonesian style tops. Bought wawa a muslimah swimming attire for RP100,000 and tops for my sister in laws here sampai takda size lah…kedai dah tutuplaa katakan!

Time ni tgh Easter Holiday so it was nice to see all the Easter eggs deco at Grand Indonesia

Here, we had our dinner at the 5th floor – Manhattan Fish Market and then we went to the kids floor to treat my kids at their painting area and took a train ride and merry-go-round. Wawa painted a tshirt…hehe…once done around 10pm we head back to hotel. Waaa what a long day….

Urut

My mom and me decided to go call up the women for urut session in our room. It was lovely…for RP100,000 per person. By 12 am barulah we’re all set to sleep! Fuhh! Sedap,badan dah sakit-sakit.

Day 3

It’s Friday, and we wanted to go to Tanah Abang the most awaited venue for me la…but then we also wanted to go to Mayastik. Gosh, too little time soo many places to go! We headed to Mayastik first, my oh my everything has change over the years. I was not familiar with the location. There was a mall in the middle of the Mayastik. After a few round, I couldn’t find the shop that we used to go recommended by my Indonesia tailor Kak An. We left the boys and the kids at the mall, hoping by 1 hour we should be done. But due to the newly constructed area…we wasted time there. When I finally discovered the shop time was up. Bayangkan lah macam mana shopping in 1/2 hour? The most disappointing part was trying to find a nice cotton material. I couldn’t…for me it was nothing amazing…but I bought some for wawa and my sil. I still don’t know what to do with the extra cotton..tried selling it..but heheh..it is still with me.I don’t really wear cotton…but I’ve send some to the tailor for raya at Kampung hubby this year.

Next stop, my father la pulak requested to stop by at  Pasaraya Grande at blok M, uwaaa so Pak Supir said this is on our way.  For those who loved POLO brand, here is where you can get original shirt at discounted price. Bought one for Mr Hubby and myself one.

Last time this mall was really bad..run down~now surprisingly it has been transformed. Modern looking and the food court was awesome.

You guys should stop by here…for the first time of my sooo many trips to Jakarta we tried the local satay!! Yummey!! MY favorite so far…as usual we restricted no ice rule. Wawa adjusted well with the chilled teh botol! haha…mujur! We solat jama’ takdim here at their Musolla. big one and I discovered a costume shop! YEAY ! I’ve yet to blog about this…8 costumes all together! Nanti eh my party blog!

By the time we reached Tanah Abang the MACET was veryyy bad. Guess what we had to turned back and head back to town….:( so sedih…we stopped by at the Senayan Mall. Both malls. Here where things get even worst. You see my phone line Digi was having some problem upon our departure to Jakarta, so I ended up without international roaming. No line at all to make calls! So there was a miss-communication between the four of us…I almost cried of frustration. Waiting without being able to contact any of my family members. The two kids were with me..and Wawa had this loss scene (i purposely hide) because she ignored me…well I over did with the hiding that she cried and went searching on the wrong direction. Debehnams staff were with her when she finally saw me.

Ayoo!! Head ache. So there we go…Day 3 gone just like that!!

Day 4 – Last day

Time flies, it was already the last day and I still couldn’t believe it that we have not reached Tanah Abang yet! After breakfast we left the hotel to Tanah Abang. We had to split due to the check out time. They dropped us at one of the door (me my mom and Aqib) while wawa followed my dad and my hubby back to hotel. Guess what?? It was not the main gate! (nak elak jam punya hal). We had to walk all the way to the right block. Saw the Jelly bag! I just grab 3, unfortunately you cannot fold it..so faham-fahamlah!

I cannot decide which one to buy but I ended up buying a maroon, white and glitter pink.

We kinda bought whatever we saw at our first sight due to the time constraint. Found this polo shirt for the boys, bought a dozen of it for nephews and my son. I don’t know why this time, we didn’t see any nice stuff at the market. We bought the mini telekung as sourveniers, and I bought one turquoise telekung for myself. That was our last shop…rupiah cash dah run out had to add with some RM. No nice white telekung…:( BUT I love my turquoise telekung hehhe…

Then…we wait and wait for our supir to come down from the parking place (6 level). The MACET was very bad…we waited for almost 2 hours just for him!! Dah cuak dah terlepas flight!! Patutnya nak singgah one last time at Tamarind Mall apa pun dah tak sempat, rushed to the airport and baru boleh bernafas lega.

There we were joined with bibik and her son an army. Tumpang barang bag kosong dia hehe.

The best part is that, when you take KLM even the airport is different! Terminal 2 was much more calmer and high standard,alhamdulillah everything went well. Upon the immigration counter, bibik were asked to go to a seperate counter on her special foreign worker pass. I refused to leave her alone, and done all the talking. Alhamdulillah the guys were ok..bibik pun lega. Kalau tak macam-macam depa nak..according to her last trip.

The dinner on the plane was great, dessert, western halal meal (x ingat dah), buns and juice.

So there you go…a shopping holiday. MACET ooo MACET…waste of time sungguh!! But we’ll never be SERIK of Jakarta hahah..perhaps later tunggu depa besar sikit and please go for 5 days at least!

KL City Vacay -School break June 2013

Last term break we were in Jakarta.(I’ve blogged about it already it’s in my draft but don’t have the time to finalized!)

This term break we have no plans to go anywhere and we decided on a very last-minute to treat our kids for a short one night Vacay experience. Wawa whose holiday definition is of course staying in a hotel!! :))

So we booked 2 days 1 night stay at…

When I Googled for KL school holidays activities 2013, discovered this open school activity at The Curve “Barbie in the Pink Shoes”. The activities inclusive of sand art, baking cupcakes, meet n greet Barbie and as usual the photo shoot!

We arrived just before 1.30pm and managed to be among the top 20 to queue for the meet and greet Barbie. She was scared at the beginning but luckily when told only kids are allowed to be on staged.. She was ok. Excited “mama tu Barbie betulke?” ” suara dia sedap la ma… tapi wawa je dengar”

Managed to snap a few pics and video… Tapi sayang video tak jadi.

Curiousity

Yes my girl has been sleeping in her own bedroom since 1st Jan 2013 and that makes it almost 4 months of a training.

My girl is a type who would always wakes up in the middle of the night, once or sometimes 2 to 3 times in a night! YES mommy has never had a full 6 or 4 hrs of sleep since 6 years ago haha!

I’m not complaining but a little bit worried when looking at her sleeping patterns. No 1 she will always wakes up around 3am in the morning sometimes crying sometimes not.

Another round would be at 4 ish or 5 ish…daily..

I try looking at a few factors that may be causing all of this:
1. Food – cara pemakanan, what was her last meal drink
2. Lifestyle – maybe not enough pyhsical activities that may lead to non deep sleep pattern?
3. Benda ghaib – terasa mcm nak check gan ustaz gak coz 3 am kan waktu syaitan kemuncak kacau. But I hope its not la coz she also wakes up at 4 n 5 am kan?
4. Habit – or it is just her.

Mommy is beating around the bush, was thinking to go and see a specialist on this. This might cause her to be too moody at day time.

Talked to my hubby about this and did consult their pead. but I guess I have to start looking for a solutions coz kesian my girl and second i too need my sleep!

YES i tgh teman my girl tido….she woke up today at 3.30am again….

almost an hour takut esok by noon i’ll be lemau already.

Uptown Danau Kota

Recently my little bro proposed to bring my mom and the rest to checkout the uptown market at Danau Kota.

But before that he introduced us to Mali’s corner. Located just behind festive city mall.

It is well-known for its famous char keutiau basah and their side dish nasi lemak.

Look at the queue…panjang betul! One lot of the shop is for kewtiau and the other lot is for nasi lemak and air. Self service ok…semua kena beratur.

Then after the delicious dinner,we walked to the uptown around 11pm. The place is basically like pasar malam but it is full of baju…toys..jerseys…and many more! Sangatla teruja for party planner macam saya ni heeee…Aqib party mmg semua dah ready on my scrap book..tak sabar tunggu $$ and date je.

30 june and 10 march is a sunday peeps!
Another small scale party.lah ya? 😦

The Holiday…pre

Finally the long awaited day has arrive!

Last night we started packing..sibuk dia nak pack jugak..she was choosing and folding her clothes. Tonight i had to repack…get rid of some unneccessary stuff!..but yet we end up with 4 bags! Errrkk…1 big bag for 4 of us, 1 small bag for swimming stuff and 2 recycle bag each for adhoc stuff like pillow jacket games and one more for food during the journey!

I’m a bit anxious about my 2 kids getting hungry in the middle of a traffic jam at tambak johor and at uss itself. So i’m ready to prepare bekal.

Many adviced us to get ready mentally and pyhsically. The hot humid weather that can make us tired easily which will lead to anger..the kids will get all cranky bcoz of the crowd, hunger and everything. The rain too requires us to be prepared to get wet!

Bought all the disposable rainy coat from Guardian at RM3.50 each..ada dua size kids and adult.

Bought a new set of sunscreen..baby wipes and Fan for aqib. loads of bun and bread…

At last I’m done..now in the midst of persuading mr hubby to sleep!

My boy Aqib’s is dignoses with ear infection since last thursday and the last 2 nights were sleepless night..now I’m very sleepy…praying my boy n all of us can rest well tonight!

Till then…doakan everything will be smooth. Till my next entry! Night2
