Day 4 : Oz Trip 2014 : Maru Koala and Animal Park & Philip Island

Almost skipped this entry! I finished blogging about 5th day that I then realised I skipped one day story! LoL!

The day after we had a scare by Aqib, we started the next day optimistically. Packed some food and off we go to Philip Island.

Instead of purchasing the 3 park passes package..which is The Penguin Parade, Koala Sanctuary and Churchill Island Heritage Farm I have decided to choose to stop by at Maru Koala and Animal Park 🐨🐻🐆🐯 http://www.marukoalapark.com.au/

MKAP is actually located 15 minutes from Philip Island. So after reading a few review plus comments from bro and his wife who had just got back from Mel Sydney Trip, MKAP is definitely among the best place to consider. I found an entry from a blogger friend http://edlinalia.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-one-with-peluang-dulu-dan-sekarang.html?m=1 or also now my new friend that I have yet to meet hehe..miss Lilia. Her blog and our emails exchange pretty much helped me to decide to go MKAP and stay at our apartment in Melbourne city (7th day entry ya…on that). So well Thank you Lilia for being such a big help!!😄😄

Back to the story…
We reached MKAP around 11ish am, bought our entry tickets and start enjoying the park. Frankly speaking, the park reminded me of our Msian Farm in the City @ Balakong. The concept was pretty similar, smaller than zoo but full of fun interactive activities with the animals!

Feed the Kangaroo yeay! I have to say eventhough this is my 3rd ke 4th time feeding the kangaroo it still managed to turned me all excited. Geli pun ada jugala! Bila lidah dia kena tapak tangan kita hehe. Wawa was practically running away from the kangaroos. We had to pujuk her to enter kangaroo gated area! Jenuh oo memujuk..luckily my mom ada so she sit with my mom pretty far…where she thinks it was a safe distance 😥😅

We watched the sheep shearing show, the koala and of course took a formal pic with MKAP mascott. These Koala sleep all day long and only wake up a few minutes just to eat. To take a pic with Maru the Koala is around $21 for 2 org.. mahalkan? To add one more $10. Mujur mr hubby approved..well to cut the cost he didn’t join in la in the pic. 😧

Alhamdulillah, lucky us..nasib masih menyebelahi we all. We decided to stop at the Information Centre (opposite the famaous Cholate Factory) and they told us to buy our Penguin Parade tickets there on spot. The timing was just perfect..no long waiting required.

We were warned about the cold sea wind here. I was worried for Aqib and his asthma actually had prepared everything..the thick clothings..warm thermos, hot chocolate and..guess what?! Dengan izin Allah..angin sepoi2 je..best giler.

Oh one major rule is that picture is not allowed to be taken once we reached the boarder area. We had to walk to the seaside along a wooden bride. It was really calming experience. No digital gadgets or what so ever. Just the sound of the wind and the wave splashing by the beach. Birds flying back to their home..and we walk calmly to our upper deck..it was almost dark..the lights was on all throughout thr wooden bridge pathway.

My mom and dad took a wagon ride for the elderly and disable. So they were there reserving us our spot. The tour guide briefed us the history of the place..why this is the perfect timing..we were all soo anxious and eager by this time. Soon all of us were quiet and we finally heard this noise..like birds coming out from the sea. Its the penguin! It was hard to see at first because it was magrib ish dark. You have to adjust you eyes to see in the dark and finally we went ohhhhh subahanallah…there it is. The penguins! Aqib wawa was so excited that we decided to turun from our deck and sit by the wooden bridge. You can see how small penguin are and how they walk. Kiri atas kanak bawah..alternately. funny creatures with funny style of walk! Aqib was mimicking their walk! 😂😂😄😄 masyaAllah..subahanallah..kagum we all. We are talking about hundreds of penguin parading their way up for their nest. Its the time of the year again..

Ada amik gambar curi2..silakan lah tgk.

😉
We were there about 45minutes and then we slowly walk up to the centre…along the way you can see the penguins walking to their nest..they said they even got lost and reach the centre and even up to the highway!!😂😂 so don’t be surprised to see the yellow sign with penguins on it!

Once we were up at the centre, we took some pictures with the penguin statues..and of course bought some sourveniers for ourself. Wajib magnets and keychains…but the Penguins plush was sooo cute that all of us couldn’t resist to take one home! Me and bro bought 2 penguin@ for $21 ..if not one will cost $39. My mom bought herself a winter penguin.

We finish we Penguin Parade and we head home..about 2 hours journey. It was really one fabulous learning experience for my kids and the family! Totally awesome..nothing can trade $49 entrance fees per pax for this moment!! (Package per pax inclusive of hot drinks)

If you ask wawa what was among the best moment during her Victoria holiday, she’ll definitely say Penguin Parade!!! 😄😄
